Spirulina: The Superfood and it’s Many Benefits…

capture_2017-01-28-22-42-37-1Spirulina is a Superfood that has many benefits. Many would say that it’s one of the most beneficial Superfood of them all. But, what is Spirulina??? Spirulina is a blue green algae and if you purchase the powder form of it…you’ll see it’s natural blue green coloring. It’s also available in capsules. A few things about Spirulina that caught my attention was it’s anti aging and energy boosting. Not to mention it’s good for hair growth and supporting healthy skin. Also, because I eat mainly fish and other seafood, but not always daily, so Spirulina is packed with protein. Which is perfect for my daily protein requirement and it’s plant and not meat based. Lastly it helps with removing toxins from the body which is another added benefit it has. Spirulina has the highest concentration of protein of any known food. It’s 65 – 71 percent protein by weight. It’s also a great source of iron. Spirulina is also rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, E, and K. So, that’s pretty much like your daily multivitamin. The picture above will further explain the benefits.
